‘Staircases’, Rena Papaspyrou, Solo Contemporary Art Exhibition, curated by Christophoros Marinos
House of Cyprus Duration 19 April – 18 May, 2018
Exhibition Design and set up

These stairs, or climaxes, as the curator calls them, define and are defined by the motion of the human body, its size and its needs, and impose obligatory routes in space.
- they create space at the same time as being shaped by the form of the ground;
- they speak of danger, haste, flight, disaster but also of uplift and celestial bliss;
For this show I made a visual Halima of individuals crammed on tiers, and I drew on paper my own imaginary, arbitrary and impassable routes along the stairs of my apartment block, which I then removed.
